About Me

Trying the UnderRated was created to document the experience of trying different activities and lifestyles that are considered to be underrated.

Welcome to the adventure of trying out the UnderRated! My name is Jaime and I am a Psychology Student at Simon Fraser University. This is my last semester and I decided to try something new. I love adventure and the discovery of the unknown. I have a passion for travelling, backpacking and hiking. Also, I am a BIG dog person.

I have never taken a publication class before and have never been technologically savvy. I am the type of person who never posts on Instagram and has never changed their Facebook profile picture. Essentially, I am a ghost online. In saying that, I thought I would try something new. Why not take a publication class and explore what the online world has to offer? I thought I would take a chance and get outside my comfort zone. Being outside of the comfort zone is strange. Although scary, I’m hoping I can learn more about myself and others by trying something new. I believe that trying new activities allows for a broader perspective.

I love trying and discovering the underrated. I find it can be more rewarding than the rate. I might be biased… biased in the sense that my original expectations are low. However, to some extent, I find it rewarding knowing that I am trying something new and can have my own opinion on it. Thus, I interpret the idea of trying as an opportunity to form my own opinion on things that may have been overlooked. With this site, I am hoping to push myself outside of my comfort zone, try new things and document them.
